David Bronner: CEO Dr. Bronner’s/Brother David’s Answers Five Questions

I first discovered Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Soap as a film student at Emerson College in 1981. I was probably under the influence of some kind of controlled dangerous substance at the time, something from the recombinant DNA students at MIT, if I can remember back that long. There was a fresh bottle of Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Soap in my shower in my apartment up on Beacon Hill. I had just purchased it at Erewhon on Newbury Street (Erewhon spelled backwards is nowhere?) As I turned on the plentiful hot water the distinctive peppermint aroma filled my brain. The fragrance and pure-gentle cleaning power swirled on me, over me and through my very chi. The familiar blue bottle with learned teachings printed all over the label helped me to know nothing as the words flew off the bottle and over my head. These teaching words were written by David Bronner’s grandfather, the soap man himself, Dr. Bronner. As my ego was shattered and burst through the steam with each tingling drop of the peppermint soap, I would in later years, go on to utilize Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint soap in my own mantra for deep enlightenment.
And David Bronner’s sun-grown cannabis? It is equally as ego busting as that day I metaphorically rode a bicycle with the benefit of his grandfather’s soap. Dr. Bronner’s Peppermint Soap to be exact.

Johnny Casali Enlightens With Five Questions Regarding Sun-Grown Cannabis

Johnny and Willie

I first met Johnny Casali at the event known as Hall of Flowers in Santa Rosa California. I was immediately taken by his warmth and kindness. He had the strong hands of a farmer who got his results from working the soil with wooden handled tools. I felt very small next to him for the events that he has experienced. Johnny has endured much in his years due to his love of cannabis. I hope that the injustices of the past help push your successes of the present into greater acceptance of our plant. Thank you Johnny.

Five Succinct Questions With Michael Steinmetz- Founder: Flow Kana

I’m a big fan of Flow Kana. They have taken the axiom of outdoor grown, sun drenched cannabis flowers and given the word craft, at least in the cannabis world new meaning. Craft cannabis means micro-farming in smaller amounts, not massive corporate grows. Craft cannabis means to me the similar approach to craft spirits. Something hand-made, with love. Flow Kana empowers the small growers with the art and science of cannabis growing. They have given new meaning to the word, craft.

Meet The Family Behind QWIN: Revolutionizing CBD Technology

Family Photo

Warren Bobrow=WB: Please tell me about yourselves? Where are you from? What was your path to your healing with cannabis? Who were your mentor(s)?

Phiton Nguyen=PN: Growing up in Orange County’s Little Saigon as second-generation immigrants from Vietnam, my sister and I had an ideal environment to explore our mutual interests in nature and health. I was interested in cannabis plants from an early age and even grew 8 plants in our backyard when I was 13. Most recently, I spent several years in the e-cigarette industry pursuing another interest born out of curiosity more than personal use, and learned the mechanics of vaporizer technology. At the time, devices on the market were complicated to use and sometimes downright unsafe, usually designed for self-learned or inexperienced users. I was intrigued by the challenge of engineering a vaporizer that was well designed, safe, high quality, and practical for ex-smokers who wanted to offset health risks. Our parents have been our greatest supporters and mentors. They overcame unimaginal hardship as refugees during the Vietnam War and were able to start a renowned record company, Lang Van once they came to America. Their entrepreneurial spirit and business acumen has guided many of our critical decisions as a young company.

Saka Is Dealcoholized Wine Elevated With THC For A Lovely Holiday Punch

Saka Thanksgiving Cocktail
Saka
TRACI@TRACILANE.COM

What would you say if I told you that wine (ok, to be quite fair, it’s wine with a very little w…, because there is no alcohol in the wine!) was in this case, infused with a very rapid onset THC? Would you be as intrigued as I am? In this case, if you live in or near Southern California, you can purchase a bottle and try it for yourself. Because Saka is unlike your usual quaff, and there is no hangover! This is a “highly” sophisticated cannabis infused beverage for the discerning cannabis aficionado who also loves fine wine.

Saka is unlike anything I have tasted on the market, at least in the realm of THC infused beverages. This is really good stuff that also gets you quite buzzed and fast!

It’s so good that I created a lovely holiday punch using this quite delicious “Mock”tail.

Otto Sabina And Kushmasters, Exceptional Cannabis Concentrates

PHOTO: BROCK FETCH

I met Otto recently out in Colorado on a snowy and ten degree, brutally frozen morning. I think the first thing I asked him was if he had snow tires and what was he driving to be able to maneuver up and down the mountains in relentless rush-hour traffic. I shouldn’t have worried much when I learned that Otto waited all summer long to ski the expert slopes on the nearby mountains that surround the Denver, Colorado region. If he had to be somewhere that involved skiing or driving in the snow, he was going to get there, no excuses. The back-story is that I live in New Jersey and put snow tires on my car, even though it hardly snows here. Not like Colorado. They have a different experience of what snow means. Silly me! So up to Boulder we went on hardly plowed roads covered with a veneer of slick ice. Not being behind the wheel was a bit disconcerting, but I got over my fear with the ever-confident Otto at the wheel.

Five Timely Questions With Gunhee Park Founder Of Populum

Gunhee Park

Warren Bobrow=WB: Please tell me about yourself. What path did you take to cannabis (CBD)? Why cannabis?

Gunhee Park=GP: My name is Gunhee Park, and I’m the founder of Populum. I’m originally from South Korea and I immigrated to the US when I was 15. Growing up, I had a lot of health issues where my mom would have to make weekly visits to the doctor. During that time, my mom also turned to traditional Eastern herbal medicine, investing a lot of time and effort in getting me all these plant-based supplements. The most exotic supplement I’ve tried is a Divlji ginseng. These strains grow undisturbed deep in the mountains for decades and is supposed to be more potent (and effective) than regular farm cultivated ginseng. CBD piqued my interest in 2015, as I became more familiar with the hemp plant. While I initially enjoyed the nutritional advantages of eating hemp seeds and protein, I was particularly drawn to hemp-derived CBD for its benefits as a plant-based supplement. At the same time, I was initially skeptical with CBD as I often found exaggerated claims from brands that promote CBD oil as some form of cure-all. After spending some time looking for reputable and trustworthy products, I realized how difficult it was to find a brand that was transparent and honest about what they were selling. Eventually, I realized that this lack of information and credibility was depriving the public of access to CBD, and through Populum, I set out to help reframe the way people view CBD, and to provide high-quality, trustworthy hemp products to conscious consumers like myself.

Max Simon

Max Simon COPYRIGHT: 2019 CHRIS VICARI

Warren Bobrow=WB: Tell me about yourself? Why cannabis? When did you decide to leave traditional business for a much different path in legal cannabis?

Max Simon=MS: I’ve used cannabis to tame my ADD for decades and have always had a deep relationship with the plant. However, when I was looking for trustworthy, credible guidance on using cannabis for ailments and conditions, growing cannabis, or transitioning into the cannabis industry, I couldn’t find anything that gave all the necessary details. We started Green Flower in 2014 to provide trusted cannabis education and training to the world, that way people can experience the personal and professional benefits of this remarkable plant and industry. Now we have millions of fans around the globe and just raised $20 million in capital to expand the business. I couldn’t be more excited about the future.
