There is no category in the cannabis industry that has received more investment or positive speculation than infused beverages. According to a recent report on the global cannabis-based ‘alcoholic beverages market,’ this sector, which includes non-alcoholic cannabis-infused beers, wines, and spirits, is expected to grow by 19% or $155 million between 2020 and 2024 making it the fastest-growing segment of the cannabis industry. Constellation Brands was one of the first companies to eye this trend when it made an almost $4 billion investment in Canopy Growth (NYSE: CGC).
How a leafy green plant is spreading its seeds within a billion dollar industry
Mixologists have entered a new era behind the bar. Guests are gravitating towards more interesting ingredients, the more bizarre, the better. One unlikely element popping up on bar menus is Cannabidiol oil, more commonly known as CBD. Bartenders across the country are breaking the stigma surrounding sativa and incorporating it into their cocktails, one bud at a time. It’s not just a vodka tonic. It’s an experience. Cannabis culture may have had a bad rep in the past, but it doesn’t always mean trippy prints and Bob Marley T-shirts. Sometimes it means classy cocktails, carefully infused and delicately garnished.
It’s been said that if you don’t know about good cannabis cocktails, than you probably don’t know about Warren Bobrow. And Bobrow knows his bud. Afterall, he’s been smoking since he was 13 years old. So it made perfect sense for him to throw away his 20-year career as a banker and transition into a cannabis cocktail whisperer.
In 2016, Bobrow published his book, Cannabis Cocktails, Mocktails & Tonics: The Art of Spirited Drinks and Buzz-Worthy Libations. Little did he know he was ahead of the game. Just one year later, beverage heavyweight, Constellation Brands, announced plans to take a $191 million stake in the Canadian medical marijuana company Canopy Growth. It’s this kind of forward thinking that has gotten Bobrow far in his industry.
More and more states are moving toward legalization, strains have evolved, and now you can learn about the best drinks to accommodate your preferred cannabis strains.

With more and more states legalizing marijuana — or making medical marijuana an accessible option — it’s high time to learn how to cook delicious foods that will both give and satiate the munchies. You may or may not be surprised by this, but learning the art of cooking with marijuana involves more than making pot brownies — it’s a precious skill. Like any other ingredient, cannabis can elevate the taste profile of many dishes, salty or sweet, when prepared correctly. It can take your flavors higher, is what we’re saying.
Remember: Marijuana remains illegal at the federal level, and has been decriminalized in some states but not others.
With that warning out of the way, put away your pipe or rolling papers and light up the stove because it’s time to get baked using the best cannabis cooking books.
Cannabis Cocktails Mocktails and Tonics by Warren Bobrow
If your kitchen utensils consist of a shaker, muddler, and bar spoon, whip up some cannabis cocktails with the straightforwardly named recipe book: Cannabis Cocktails, Mocktails, and Tonics. Author Warren Bobrow walks through the totally cool and geeky process of de-carbing cannabis to release its psychoactive effect while laying down the history of cannabis as a social drug. The name of this cannabis cookbook should have been: How to drink cannabis for every meal, since it includes coffee, tea, lemonade, mood-enhancing syrups, and — of course — cocktails.

They allow us to partake in experiences with them, whether it’s baking ziti, traveling the world, or learning incredibly timely updates in the industry.
