There are dozens of tourist hotels in San Francisco that fail to offer the true experience of being in this magnificent city by the bay. They just seem to suck the life out of travel by being determined to sap the character out of a neighborhood, or in a broader scope make the time away just like home. That’s no way to travel! In my opinion, traveling is meant to give the guest a view into a place that is missing by staying at a big name hotel. You cannot do this by watching television. You must experience it first hand.
Nothing like outdoor grown WARREN BOBROW: IPHONE X
I’d say that I know most, if not all of the participants. Too bad that I’m in New Jersey and I cannot easily attend. But this kind of event really couldn’t happen anyplace else. If you live in the Bay Area of California just please try to attend. It’s for a good cause, Crop to Kitchen. I feel strongly about supporting the cannabis universe and through their intrinsic guidance I’ve found meaning to the healing found within. It works for me. I’m a massive fan of controlled dosage long-table dinners. They show what is possible in cuisine at the intersection of cannabis and the ancillary cultural relevance.
How could I come completely across the country to visit the world famous, Hall of Flowers and not bump into Steven, one of the enlightened brothers from Brotherly Love Cannabis? It was inevitable that I would have this opportunity. My time to discover new sources for articles here was understandably short. I really wasn’t there for my own edification, although that magic couldn’t help but take place, it’s irresistible to be surrounded by flowers, flowers and more flowers. It was a few lush spring days in the verdant mountains of Occidental, California. Surrounded by ancient redwood trees, I’d always wanted to walk into the redwood forest, it’s dark in there, full of life and possibilities. They feed you with ambition in their long decay. Staying here, in this place of introspective reflection put me into the mind-space to be able to recognize authentic East Coast people, just by the way they move in a crowd. Maybe it was their T-Shirts?
To experience terroir, quite simply known in wine terms as the taste of a specific place as it applies to Humboldt County, California makes perfect sense. In my travels up and down the West Coast of California and stretching from Oregon to Nevada and Washington State to the far reaches of Maine, Massachusetts and down to Rhode Island, each appellation has it’s own personality. Cannabis, like wine possesses very specific notes, also known as terpenes. I’ve discovered that the terpenes of Southern California take on fruit salad notes, bursting with the brightly textured bowl goodness that seems to make everything that I’ve smoked from this region to taste like each puff is filled with optimism. There is a smile in every puff. Moving on up the coast from Southern California to the verdant hills north of San Francisco, terroir is much more evident. Outdoor growth under the sun is the key to the smiles that ooze their way from the earth. Nary a drop of added water enters the growth process. This is a way that resembles Biodynamics, the study of the earth and the universe, interpreted by Rudolph Steiner over one hundred years ago. The flavors of the earth speak with great clarity when Casa Humboldt is nurturing the cultivars from soil untouched by heavy metals and manipulation. Great care is taken to ensure the finest possible results with minimal intervention, just like in wine.
AKA: Mother’s Little Helpers-by the Rolling Stonesis in the Public Domain. The BEST gifts for Moms. That’s the gift list that I want to put together. Just returning from the Hall of Flowers, I was privy to some of the finest cannabis flowers in the world, shown to me in all forms, from vaporizers (The Ghost comes to mind), to the ever cleverly designed Puffco Peak, there was something for everyone at The Hall of Flowers. Perhaps the greatest element of this B2B event was the opportunity to openly consume our cannabis, without fear of arrest. That stigma alone is my motivating force behind the use of vape pens. They are non antagonistic. They don’t shout: I’m smoking a joint. They are designed for pleasure, some with added terpenes for taste and aromatics, still others are the exemplification of class and comfort against your lips. I was charmed by so many, but I only have room for eleven, so here goes. Moms Little Helper indeed.

After writing a couple articles about the legal cannabis business in San Francisco, I was contacted by 1st Lady Of The West Coast. She is (for obvious reasons) not disclosing her name. But that should not preclude me from touting her Old School successes. She had the guts to contact me, that in itself is amazing. I respect her need for privacy and even I don’t know her first, nor her last name. Nor would I ask twice, it’s just not done. ‘Nuff said. So when I was given this honor to tell her story, there wasn’t any hesitation. I needed to do right by the universe, the cannabis family would be proud. And 1st Lady Of The West Coast would have fulfilled her goals. And what would that be? Being the fantastic person she is. I’m honored to be her friend. Thank you for allowing me the honor.
A couple weeks ago I received two small packages of pre-rolls that were unlike anything that I have seen or better yet, smoked prior. The packages were extremely well designed with sleek artwork and utterly mesmerizing color schemes. My childhood spent partially in Miami Beach at my family’s estate (Shangri-La) on Hibiscus Island, was filled with this cheery color array. The boxes scream to me Classical Art Deco, and the Higgs Lifestyle Cannabis experience comes with a twist. That twist would be the perfectly hand stuffed and tiny cannabis cigarettes contained within!
I never thought that less would truly exemplify more, but I have been wrong before about micro-dosing cannabis. Traditionally on this 4/20 day, it has special meaning to many, but in my case it is especially profound because I’ve chosen to go the less is more route. As many folks will rise before the dawn for their first foray into the experience of the day, others slept through the first class, like myself. I never should schedule an early class, just not a good idea. Maybe if I had packs of OLO Sublingual strips on hand I could fine tune my day.
