I love when fabrics are created using alternative materials such as hemp. I wrote a piece on furniture coverings made from this incredibly durable material last year, why not clothing? The problem is the looming of these fabrics. Because of the demise of fabric weaving in the USA, the technological necessity of finding skilled laborers who can work with hemp is miniscule. Add to that the lack of looms for weaving hemp fibers and there is room for advancement within this niche. Hemp is hot and hemp clothing with fashion elements? Now we’re talking! From the mind of Project Runway Star Korto Momolu and Women Grow comes NY Fashion Week. Exciting stuff from our most maligned plant. Cheers! WB
I’ve enjoyed the publication named High Times since I was a wee-lad, a mere teenager in the 1970’s. It was always my go/to for information on the illegal substance, cannabis. I would go on to later years by being disowned by my family for using cannabis, their loss! They had no idea of the power of cannabis, but what did they know? Obviously not enough.

I sat with Andrew Davison during my trip to Denver recently and learned that he was influenced by the outdoor survival school named NOLS. Years back, when I first moved back to Morristown, NJ from living around the country working as a cook, my downstairs neighbor also graduated from the NOLS program. Small world? Perhaps, but this school is not just about survival in the wild, but it seems to train intellects certain skills that are absolutely essential in the corporate world. My friend went on to his own career in corporate America, just like Andrew Davison has found his niche in the cannabis business with the marvelous products named, Willie’s Reserve. I’m proud to have had the opportunity to share some valuable time with Andrew because he is intrinsically geared to the kind of success that only the rarest of individuals can share. But he does, and with a genuine smile. Thank you Andrew, you brought light into my day. With this, it is my honor to introduce Andrew Davison, CEO of GCH Inc. Cheers all. WB
It’s hard to break me away from the tried and true. After all, I had a grinder for at least ten years before I even thought about raising the bar and upgrading it. The grinder that I upgraded to is made of ceramic. It’s so smooth and it never gets stuck on anything, stems or an errant seed, although I’d be hard pressed to find one of those. Imagine my trepidation when the Tectonic 9 was delivered to my door. I had a perfectly good grinder, then upgraded to something that I always wanted. Now I was given the opportunity to try the Tectonic9. What should I do?
I’ve always used cannabis to unlock my intellect. Probably longer than you would imagine, since I’ve enjoyed the rational benefits of cannabis since about 1972. I could go on and on how cannabis has made me smarter, but unless you have followed my writing, you’d wonder how cannabis could do that. Certain cultivars have been known to enhance intelligence. GEN!US has taken the hard work out of this search and have dug a bit deeper in this regard. I’ve always said the ultra-high end of cannabis is for people who have more money than time. Time to search for the perfect strain? Not necessary to seek this cannabis grail without a little bit of help? That’s just GEN!US (!)
WB’s Note: I grew up on a Biodynamic/Organic farm in northern New Jersey. Part of the difficulty of growing crops outside is the mostly inclement weather. There are just too many variables at work to make farming anything less than controllable. Lack of sunshine, oft inclement weather- hail, snow, rain, insects, all contribute to short growing seasons and lack of a good investment harvest. To the commercial grower, outdoor growing can be rewarding, or it can be a loss of an entire grow, and you should pick which one is more enticing. I would pick the one with the most comfort for the investors. Which means, don’t mess it up or they are coming for their investment, as in right now! One of my fascinations in commercial growing is something that I saw in Arizona. It was a vast greenhouse, originally manufactured in Holland for growing tomatoes and tulips. What was being grown in this “Dutch” greenhouse was far from tomatoes and flowers. It was nearly three hundred thousand square feet of ultra-high-end cannabis and with the nearly 350 days per year of natural sunshine, this vast greenhouse earned it’s keep in short measure.
Allison Kopf is also intrigued by greenhouses and farming. If you read on, you’ll discover her passion for growing facilities and why we should embrace the sun.
Outdoor Grown in California WARREN BOBROW: IPHONE X
I live in New Jersey, which is light-years behind California on everything cannabis. That is why I pay so much attention to the cultivation scene on the West Coast. No matter how, if or when New Jersey is legalized, massive hurdles must be overcome, just to remain relevant. That’s why I suggest becoming more proficient with the terms MSO, SSO and… None of the Above. Good luck with cannabis in New Jersey, you’re going to need it!
