Hello Again Is Taking On Menopause: At The Source With Cannabis

Hello Again
Carrie Mapes and Patty Pappas PHOTO COURTESY: HELLO AGAIN

Initially I was hesitant to take on this topic, menopause. Why? Being a man, I couldn’t possibly understand (I don’t, really) nor would I ever experience the thrills and deep joys of menopause. (I wouldn’t have that sports car either from what is described as Male Menopause. It doesn’t exist for men, no matter how we plead.) But actually I have experienced menopause from afar, however I won’t go into that in this article. Good thing really. But enough of what I know or better yet, don’t know about menopause. What I do know is that THC and CBD when combined in carefully metered doses (at the source) offer a deep form of relief that just has to be shared in my column. No matter what your personal thoughts are about taking any form of cannabis, this product that I discovered named Hello Again is Taking on Menopause… at the Source. Check it out!

Bosporus cocktail: Raise a cannabis-infused toast to ring in legalization 2.0

Raki is an all-purpose, age-old remedy for any and every occasion. The signature sweetened, anise-flavoured drink of Turkey is “the go-to spirit for celebrating a promotion or a birthday or for muting the pain of a job loss or the end of a relationship,” notes an article on CNN Travel.

As Canadians celebrate legalization 2.0, raki is also the recommended choice for a THC infusion, Bosporus cocktail. “The infused mix is delicious and gets you stoned without anyone smelling anything—it’s a non-confrontational way to consume cannabis,” Warren Bobrow, known as the Cocktail Whisperer in the hospitality industry, tells The GrowthOp.

Mixologist, bartender and contributing writer for Forbes, Bobrow is the author of, among other books, Cannabis Cocktails, Mocktails & Tonics: The Art of Spirited Drinks and Buzz-Worthy Libations.

His only piece of advice: “The cannabis strain that you use must not be CBD. In my opinion, CBD is useless; I don’t work with hemp, either. It does nothing other than lighten your pocketbook,” he says.

Are They Friend Makers Or Dog-Walkers? Highrize Excelsior Cannabis Pre-Roll

Highrize
Highrize Minis.. PHOTO COURTESY: HIGHRIZE

I’m fascinated by tiny in cannabis. Since I smoke alone most of the time, there really is no reason for me to spark up a one gram joint as much as I might want to. I cannot possibly finish a full gram joint in one sitting, it’s just too much for me. Imagine my delight when I discovered Highrize pre-rolls! They’re tiny, weighing about .35 grams or fewer per pre-roll. And as my title reads, they are both friend makers and dog-walkers. You just need a dog to walk. They last about as long as you need to walk your dog, or your metaphysical dog. You know, the one that is there- and then it is not. A new friend is made in every step.

Frenchy Cannoli, Master Hashishin Graciously Reveals His Five Questions

I was just over in Germany for the Berlin Bar Convent and while I was there I led a panel on cannabis and beverages. Afterwards I spent some time wandering around the city parks. I had many opportunities to purchase some European hashish, but I didn’t do it this time and it’s too bad because European hashish is completely different than the most of the stuff that is called hashish in the United States. The last time I smoked some Middle Eastern hash, I was in Paris and it was about twenty years ago. The little “Temple Ball” felt to my hands like warm oil and fragrant cannabis flowers that were softly pressed (all by hand) until they combined to make a paste, which was then further rolled into a tiny ball. The source of this product was impeccable, it was not purchased in the park but came to me through locals who knew the trade well.

Five Succinct Questions With James Kim, Founder Of STIIIZY

James Kim
Shryne Group_James Kim (1)THE HEADSHOT TRUCK LLC

I’m very familiar with the STIIIZY vape-pen system since these marvelous contraptions have accompanied me back and forth (several times) across the country via air. Thus they pass the most important test of my many vape cartridges. That would be the leaking under pressure test. STIIIZY passes, every time.

Pluto Ultra-Technical Extracts Take The Inner Space To Outer Space

I’m a massive fan of the “High” end of the cannabis flower business. It stems from my background in boutique rum for about a year. In a life much unknown to my cannabis friends, I was the national brand ambassador for a craft-centric rum company owned by a Russian company. They brought me to the Moscow Bar Show and they helped me in my quest to seek and sell the finest craft spirits over the mundane, mass-produced corporate ones. Their specialty was un-manipulated rum, which brings me to my current day dilemma. Too many multi-state cannabis brands focus on mass quantities of any given cultivar. I’m happy that their deeply corporate metrics allow them to grow three hundred thousand square feet of only a couple strains of cannabis, but really what I’m looking for is an adherence to quality over sheer quantity.

Five Rational Questions For Christopher Louie, Founder/CEO Xiaolin Cannagars

Cannagars are my passion and the people who make them are equally as intriguing. I love to seek cannagars out in my quest to discover the art of ultra-high-end cannabis. Until a couple of years ago, no one had any idea what a cannagar was, or what valuable ingredients goes into one. That was then.

When Christopher Louie moved to Colorado from New York, the market had not been established yet. He saw the financial opportunity to do something brilliant and educational too. To smoke one a hand-made Xiaolin Cannagar is an emotional and philosophical experience. And while not everyone can say that they’ve enjoyed a Xiaolin Cannagar, they are available legally in Colorado.

Why not put some real pot in Thanksgiving potluck?

We spoke to three cannabis influencers on how to bring cannabis to the dinner table.

Gin & Juice with a canna-twist

With the simplest of ingredients, one can make a delicious canna-punch. Warren Bobrow, the Cocktail Whisperer, says the key ingredient in his take on the classic Gin and Juice is the orange juice made with roasted oranges. The botanical gin, says Bobrow, “acts as a guide dog, if you will, for the THC. It’s really lovely!”

Ingredients

2 oz. botanical gin of your choice, with 0.25 g of THC-rich cannabis
4 oz. roasted orange juice
2 oz. ginger beer syrup (Bobrow uses Pickett’s)
4 oz. club soda
Fee Brothers Cardamom Bitters

Directions

  1. Heat the cannabis in a 240 degree F oven for 45 minutes. Cool and set aside.
  2. Add cannabis and the botanical gin to an iSi whipped cream maker.
  3. Force two or three Nitrous oxide (N2O) cartridges into the cannabis and the gin. Strain and set aside.
  4. Add the ginger beer syrup.
  5. Float roasted orange juice on top.
  6. Finish with 4 oz. club soda.
  7. Stir well and dot with Fee Brothers Cardamom Bitters.

For a final finish, Bobrow suggests a celebratory swizzle.

David and James are going forward into places not unknown in their former lives, drawing from decades of experience in nightlife, media, marketing, and event production.
