Chongo=Bong Crystal Voyager=pipe WARREN BOBROW: IPHONE X
A couple months ago, the extremely kind and generous artists at Summerland sent me a Chongo and a Crystal Voyager for review. I had a bong already from an earlier article, a Session Bong, with its good looking and easy to hold lines, but when the Chongo arrived it was shelved. Mostly because I’m not a bong guy. I am pretty old-fashioned in my cannabis consumption, and I am not looking to maximize my experience by ingesting large amounts of smoke in a forthright, concentrated manner. I utilize my Genius Pipe, so easy on the lungs, and just the right amount of smoke. But when I have the hankering for something a bit more intense, I reach for my water-pipe to cool that smoke, and offer a bit of a lift. So, my writing about the Summerland Bong and pipe in Forbes, took a Social Media note from Summerland to remind me of my obligations, one that I take very seriously. Sorry for my negligence, I’ve been a bit busy…
Rene Descartes stated: “I think, therefore I am”, and nothing could lead me closer to finding the truth than enjoying this specific path to enlightenment. How is this done in the modern context?
By slipping a couple of these tasty little SUM Microdose charms under your tongue, that’s how. Micro-dosing tiny sublingual mints of the highest quality brings the curious CBD and THC imbiber closer to the true meaning of healing. This can be achieved in very small ways. How is this done? Each perfectly formed mint has a curiously refreshing quality in each micro-dosed sublingual. The label states focus and what is delivered does just that, in a precision dosed amount that balances CBD (the healing substance in cannabis, and in hemp), and THC, found in cannabis. When THC is balanced against CBD, a curious conundrum known as the Entourage Effect takes place. Contrary to the popular belief that higher THC levels are more important towards, ‘getting high’ than low THC levels. And those that balance CBD to THC are right on the money.
I discovered Jessica on the Inter-web, it may have been @Twitter, but I have a feeling it may have been @instagram, but that really doesn’t matter. Where it should have been was LinkedIn, because after lightly editing Jessica’s responses to my questions, I realized that her passion was, and will always be a creative one. And that impressed me greatly, because my path mirrored hers, finance, creativity. The struggle to succeed at something that is so untested, so stigmatized. So wrong in many people’s eyes. Too bad. More for us, I always have said. And Jessica Cadmus is unafraid of being herself. She has led the kind of life that belies her years, whatever they are, she has achieved amazing things. Entrepreneur? Check, Business Woman? Check. Bagel maker? Really? So read on, and please discover a female entrepreneur who is making a product that is bespoke, and elegant. Crafty and polished. Jessica sent one to me, and at first I didn’t know what to do with it. But as Hermes is to a woman’s purse, Rogue Paq is to cannabis accoutrements. Elegance, Guts and Determination. All wrapped up into a little thing we call success. Thank you Jessica for being the person who is intent on being herself. One stitch at a time. Cheers! wb

Danny Murr-Sloat is shaking the luxury cannabis market by breeding and cultivating his own select cultivars— AlpinStash OriginalsLemmiwinks, Sparrow King, Falkor, Grape Grimoire, and Platinum Tiger Cookies— in a fashion that is uniquely his own. Danny is both intriguing and pragmatic. His methodology is organic in procedure, with some very special techniques added that he happily shares with his fellow growers. I was immediately impressed that Danny is not “Chasing THC,” which I believe is the downfall to the cannabis industry. After I had my cannabis DNA tested, I realized that the “Chasing THC” theory is flawed. My body, and that of many others, should not be using only high THC cultivars. Low THC and a balance of THC/CBD is far healthier, when growing medically applicable cannabis. Danny has forged his own path, impressing Colorado’s cannabis connoisseurs. In this interview, he discusses indoor growing and the lack of a traditional terroir. I think his answer to indoor cultivation is brilliant, and it shows that flavor and quality shine through in their own, intimate manner. AlpinStash is raising the bar towards an even more visually pleasing, flavorful and aromatically driven cannabis. One of my main concerns with indoor growing is the lack of individuality, but AlpinStash retains all the visceral characteristics of hand-tended, luxury cannabis, and then adds their own individuality—their own signature. Luxury cannabis has never tasted so good! Now, without further adieu, may I present the founder of revered micro-cultivation brand AlpinStash. Please allow me the pleasure of sharing with you, Danny Murr-Sloat.
I sat with Kim Rael for a few minutes at the Seed to Sale Show, held up in Boston, a couple days ago. I could immediately see the potential of her company, in between talking about everything else but her company. And then I forgot to give Kim my business card. That’s not like me, sorry Kim! At any rate, I was conversing with Tom Weihmayr of the Toronto Drink Factory about flavors, the potential for flavor driven products like cannabis in beverages and the like. A flash of inspiration put a light bulb into my head, and it led me back into my recent chat with Kim Rael. Why not take this thing called cannabis and spread the philosophy and medicinal benefits around the globe? Why not indeed? Which brings me back to the conversation that enjoyed with Kim. She’s whip smart, that’s immediately obvious, and I saw her mind working, always thinking of the next sentence carefully before putting the words into the air. Kim is a studied business-minded visionary. A deeply pragmatic, highly talented business woman who is a force for change. Becoming CEO of a major corporation in the cannabis field is not usually the role that someone aspires to, especially when it’s so risk filled. After all, there are certain regulations in every state, and of course the Federal Government as a bureaucracy to contend with. And of course the ‘stigma’ which is, quite simply the 900 pound gorilla in the room. That gorilla comes in many formats, be it regulatory, or more simply, the law of the land, or even a disapproving family member. It takes guts to be a success in the cannabis world and Kim Rael is, for all intents and purposes making a massive dent in the veneer of the traditional business model. She is living the experience of a metric-driven entrepreneur, but the successes are far more vital when you are using someone else’s money. Sure it’s cannabis, and this CEO role, running the top of the house is no less important than a Forbes Fifty list member in traditional business. Because traditional business is about to be overtaken by intellectual superiority and women like Kim Rael, who is going to be very well known. I have every anticipation that Azuca and Inventive CBD will become household names before long. They offer the finest culinary products,that are unlike anything else on the market. Culinarians should be equally charmed with Chef Ron Silver involved in the Culinary equation. Certainly, he is someone who knows his way around flavor, quality, and most importantly, class. These full flavored products that certainly, ‘Raise the Bar’ in the form of fun, intriguing flavors, and the simplicity of execution. I’m honored to share Kim’s story, and her entrepreneurial style, based in real, old-fashioned business-sense. The kind that you find in rational thinkers, and in working entrepreneurs. Real hard workers.
What Price For Perfection? PHOTO: EDUARDO WHITTINGTON
Ever since I started covering the luxury cannagar space I’ve tasted some pretty lush cannagars. It’s really hard to determine the one that I enjoy the most, since the top of the house can be a very busy place. All have been intellectually amusing. The composite cannagars, for example, Lobo, which I discovered in Portland, Oregon, are the most exciting. Although you shouldn’t just seek out these examples. Sometimes simplicity is better for those of us who didn’t grow up smoking dabs. But first, what is a cannagar? In earlier articles, I’ve discussed the various forms of cannagars. For me, all I want are the ones with natural wrappers. What does this mean? Well, quite simply a natural wrapper doesn’t have tobacco in it. I’m not reviewing them, so don’t ask! It wasn’t until very recent that I accepted the flavor of a hemp wrapper as part of the biz, but first, the fan leaf, or sugar leaf is what my palate desires. Natural. Keep it simple. The first Lobo that I smoked was a tightly rolled, natural wrapper cannagar. It was pretty small, but it lasted for almost a month by only taking a couple hits off it per day. I thought immediately that the Lobo was a quality product, memorable in every way, and I had to find these toothsome wonders again.
When one thinks“Jersey Fresh”they immediately think about the successful marketing campaign for ‘Jersey’ grown fruits and vegetables. And rightfully so, because New Jersey is the Garden State, or so it says on our license plates. Over yonder, near Secaucus, New Jersey, another revolution is taking place. It is Jersey Fresh, 100%, just a different kind of produce is being nurtured. Here, at the Harmony Dispensary, they grow all of their fine medical cannabis, right on site. You can’t get much more Jersey Fresh than this. And, by the mental photographs that are encapsulated in my brain from visiting the grow, thank you. And a massive thank you goes to Shaya Brodchandel for your kindness by sharing your very special, “Jersey Fresh” grow with me.
I received the honor of writing a Cannabis-Centric Valentine’s Day gift guide from my kind editors at Forbes- after my pitch, of course! The overall topic was certainly not your usual fare. The best diamond, best bottle of Single Malt Scotch, best Swiss-chocolates, nor the best online rose retailer interested me. I wanted something that most people have never thought about. And even fewer have tried. The Cannagar!
The more I spend time around the top of the house of the cannabis industry, I’ve even found certain niche environments that are exploding in popularity. And it’s not because the market is being flooded with these specialty products, far from! Nor is this incredible device being saturated with popularity in the media driven culture. No one really knows about them, (cannagars). This is probably because they are not inexpensive. This world of the best and the far better than just the best is exemplified by secretive, inner city culture and the explosion of wealth within the rap music industry. There is no lack of money for the very best loud that money can buy. And that’s really the rub, in a land of the good good, there are not enough hand-crafted cannagars to go around. So pay attention!
