Editor note: Recently I had the rare opportunity to share ideas on the telephone with one of the most intriguing individuals I’ve had the pleasure of speaking to in recent memory. Alex Shah is that person, and he is brimming with enthusiasm and purpose. He is highly conversational, and our interview went into all tangents, but what intrigued me the most was his passion for creativity and even cooking! It is through conversations that surround food that I find the deeper meanings in life. Not only work, but what makes us tick. And that is through the love of food. I saw, very clearly, that this man is not just a thinker. He’s a theorist and a creative being. Photography, food and life, not a bad way to work, doing what you love. It’s crystal clear that Alex is a success in whatever he sets out to do.

The email read like this: Hello Warren, Great news! A Viride GeoPipe is heading your way. More info on the GeoPipes by Stonedware: http://stonedwarecompany.com
Why Viride chose to collaborate with Stonedware: “I choose to partner with Ariel after learning more about the craftsmanship that goes into each Stonedware piece. We spent a lot of time collaborating on the design elements to make the pieces promotional but organic. I wanted to design a branded product that was still beautiful to display as a home accessory. The finished pieces are ones that everyone is enthusiastic about and the functionality rivals any other pipe on the market.” — Sarah Remesch, founder of 270M & Managing Editor of Viride

Why You Should Know The Initiative & The Commune Founder Amy Margolis
Amy Margolis, a prominent 17 year practicing attorney and founder of the Oregon Cannabis Association, is an uncompromising go-getter. A deeply entrepreneurial attorney who’s made a career focusing on the Pacific Northwest (and beyond) cannabis space, Margolis is whip smart and uncompromisingly concise. She has dedicated her career in helping her clients and the industry as a whole navigate through the brave new world of cannabis legalization— a very new direction, one that is certainly not the divorce, tax, real estate or the multitude of legal careers she could have followed. Amy is a famed cannabis lawyer and she’s darned good at what she does. That’s only a very small part of what Amy has accomplished in her young life in Portland, Oregon, though. She recently announced the launch of both The Commune and The Initiative to ensure that the cannabis industry remains the most progressive and balanced emerging industry yet.

This uniquely chunky, light saber looking device is going to revolutionize the art of smoking medical cannabis. Within the smoothly formed, hefty build of borosilicate glass, aircraft grade aluminum, and finely polished stainless steel lays inner workings that include a ceramic heating chamber and the above mentioned high heat glass. There are parts that securely snap on by powerful magnets and everything has a utilitarian feel of the finest workmanship. Each finely manufactured section is built with extreme care by talented and inquisitive engineers who have tested and retested the Hydrology 9 for perfection. This is no ordinary smoking device! It is a nerd’s way of bringing a very specific, Star Wars Light Saber looking technology to the friendly simplicity of smoking your favorite strain of cannabis. (Or even finely minced tobacco, should you desire) A puff of healing vapor becomes cooled by fluid dynamics. How does this work? It’s pretty basic although the technical engineering of the device precludes a flow-chart, so don’t ask! The Cloudious 9 will change the way you imbibe cannabis, forever! You can really taste the fine Terpenes of the cannabis flowers. Lush. Gorgeous. Pure. Friendly. Elegant? Absolutely!
Editor’s Note: I first came across the MagicalButter (MB2e) machine at a party I attended several years ago. There was a novice cook turning out professional results that only a trained chef could perform, at least from a culinary perspective. Of course, the final results were infused with certain botanicals, which at that time were no more than whispers under hushed tones. The MagicalButter machine, standing stoic on the counter, whirred away nearly silently. And, that light show! What a marvelous experience. How delightful to deliciously melt away the afternoon while admiring the swirling lights, so lovely! And the end results? Always perfect.
A rather fat hand rolled-cone stuffed with the California Bud Company strain named Cookies was just passed my way with a knowing smile. I knew at that very moment, encapsulated in that slowly burning cherry at the tip, was more than just mere enlightenment. Inside this perfectly crafted cone contained their namesake product, the most wonderful cannabis, hand-tended and sunshine grown. It was, quite simply; “Cultivated Happiness.” There was deep love and his company’s cannabis grower’s passion spilling out of the spiraling smoke. This experience was way more than just another perfect Cali-type moment in time. Buckets of bountiful California sunshine came spilling out of each hit of the joint and the timeless Beatles’ song, Blue Jay Way reverberated throughout my sun-drenched memory of the day. A curiously sweet aroma of freshly crushed California coastal grown herbs: rosemary, thyme and sage, enveloped our heads as we gazed out over that endless horizon, purple and red and yellow in color. Sometimes the sky looks like it is even on fire, it’s that kind of place. Los Angeles’ sprawl spilled out over hundreds of square miles under this well-traveled road.
The Hemponair is not your typical New York City based entrepreneur, far from really. Jason Lazar is his name and he is certainly a real New Yorker, born and raised. So he knows a bit more than most about the who’s, what’s and why’s of NYC. He works with a substance known as Cannabis. Jason, through his online publication aptly named The Hemponair, offers splashes of up to the minute information in the online Cannabis space. He offers alternatives to the typical media blasts and gets directly to the point of what is the very best way to help spend your hard earned bitcoins and dollars. In a city as massive and as ‘taxing’ as New York City, doesn’t it make sense for the well-heeled gentleman to have an ultra-lux guide all to themselves?
