Binske Donating Meals To The Feeding America COVID-19 Relief Fund

There are seminal moments when companies have the opportunity to separate themselves from the pack. This occurs when a company takes a bold stand, drawing a line in the sand and making it clear to the rest of the universe that they stand for something, something greater than themselves, something greater than the sum of their parts. Normally those moments are recognized through financial gains or innovative ingenuity, but in this particular case, it is through social responsibility during a global pandemic. That’s why when I heard that the international cannabis brand Binske was donating meals to the Feeding America COVID-19 Relief Fund, I wanted to learn more, so I contacted Alex Pasternack whom I interviewed last year for an article in Forbes. What I have learned is truly impressive. From April-July, the Binske brand is donating 5 meals for every Binske product purchased across the country.

Based in San Jose, CA, Airfield Supply Company — a vertically-integrated cannabis dispensary that champions the notion that “High Is A Place” — recently celebrated its 10th anniversary. Ten years is a very long time in legit California cannabis, so this marker piqued my interest. Established to serve the medical market as the South Bay Healing Center in 2010 and rebranded for the recreational market in 2015, Airfield Supply Co. has grown into one of the highest-volume, single-site recreational cannabis dispensaries in the United States, serving more than 1,500 consumers daily — a full 300 of whom each day enter for the first time. I caught up with Airfield Supply Co.’s founder and CEO Marc Matulich to learn what makes Airfield so special.

Ball Family Farms Founder Chris Ball On Social Equity And Pheno Hunting

Chris Ball of Ball Family Farms in the flowers
Chris Ball of Ball Family Farms “BALL FAMILY FARMS”

This is an excerpt from an email I received. Reprinting it is relevant because reading the words help paint a picture of passion in growing truly exceptional cannabis.

I recently read your article ‘Cut & Dry Platinum Bubba Kush Aka: Play Charms My Palate’ on Forbes and found it very insightful in regards to your explanation of effects, taste notes and Cut & Dry’s approach to growing. Would you be interested in expanding on the subject of unique cultivars as they pertain to standing out in an oversaturated market? Did you know there’s only around twelve cultivars and their various hybrids based on terpene distinction and THC/CBD/CBG analysis in the modern market? Regardless of unique names, plant genetics in the industry are fairly homogeneous. Why? Most cultivators want to maximize profit by minimizing the time it takes to flip crops and cutting corners (like pheno-hunting) they think consumers won’t notice.

Hemson Goods: Crafted Cannabis Accoutrements For The Discerning Toker In 2020

I love good wood! WARREN BOBROW: IPHONE XR

During college in Boston I smoked a tobacco pipe. Not just any pipe, but a really lovely, handmade Dunhill Bruyere that I enjoyed very much, it made me feel less like a poor college student, and more like a gentleman, living on Beacon Hill. It offered an air of class when I had very little more than an apartment in a student ghetto on the back side of Beacon Hill.

When a cannabis equipment company thinks enough of their consumer to charge their rechargeable device before the sale, that gets my attention. I like to open the box and not have to wait an hour to charge my new cannabis tool.

And it’s small, smaller than the mouse on my iMac. And much lighter too. Elegant and smooth to the touch. It also has a nice rubberized edge that makes it resistant to slipping out of my hand. Nice touch.

About five years ago I made my way on assignment down to Louisville, Kentucky for the Running of the Roses at Churchill Downs. It was not one of the high points of my journalistic experience. Primarily because of my lodging arrangements. I was initially staying near the airport.
